Role Description The Accountant role at HUNA is a full-time, on-site position based in Amman, Jordan. The Accountant will handle daily bookkeeping activities, including recording transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate general ledger entries. This role will support month-end and year-end closing, prepare financial statements and reports, and assist with budgeting and forecasting. The Accountant will monitor cash flow, reconcile bank and vendor accounts, and ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. The role also involves working closely with operations and management to provide financial insights that support business decisions and marketplace growth. Qualifications Strong core accounting skills, including bookkeeping, general ledger management, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements. Experience with financial planning and analysis, such as budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with solid skills in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools. Knowledge of Jordanian tax laws, local regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to e-commerce and retail operations. Attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills, and the ability to maintain accurate and timely financial records. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are an advantage. Prior experience in retail, marketplace, or e-commerce businesses is preferred, especially in a growing or startup environment. Show more Show less
